Governor Support
18 Governors Support $129.7 million for MEP. Governor Granholm (D-MI) has sponsored a Governor “Sign-On” letter to U.S. House and Senate Appropriators requesting support for the President’s proposed funding for the MEP program in fiscal year 2011. The letter states, “We strongly believe that this nation needs to continue its leadership in the global manufacturing economy. The MEP program is an essential part of the effort to restore this leadership at a time when economic recovery is a national priority, we believe the MEP continues to be a wise investment.” The letter was signed by Governors of the following states: Michigan, Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Vermont, Washington, and Wisconsin.
