ASMC and its members have been fortunate to have the support of several local, state and national entities, including Members of Congress, Governor's, State Governments, Trade Associations, manufacturing related associations and manufacturing clients. The success of the ASMC and its members rely on their support and offer its appreciation on behalf of the more than 28,000 manufacturing clients annually.

Governor Support
20 Governors Support $122 Million for MEP. Governor Granholm (D-MI) have sponsored a Governor "Sign-On" letter to U.S. House and Senate Appropriators requesting increased funding for the MEP program in fiscal year 2009. The letter states, "We are writing to you to express our strong support for the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) program, which was not adequately funded in the President's FY 2009 budget proposal. We urge you to fund the MEP at $122 million in FY 2009, which is the fully-authorized level (PL 100-69) provided for this important program…. Without the MEP's assistance, many of our small and mid-sized manufacturers may not be competitive in this global marketplace. On behalf of these companies and manufacturing workers in our states, we urge you to fund the Manufacturing Extension Partnership program at $122 million in FY 2009." Governors Sign-on Letter

Associations Letter of Support. Related manufacturing associations and partner organizations of the MEP program are signing a letter of support requesting $122 million be appropriated to the MEP program in Fiscal Year 2009. The letter, to be sent March 1, 2008 will be sent to the Chairman and Ranking Members of both the House and Senate Appropriation Subcommittees with jurisdiction over the MEP program. The letter states, "We – the undersigned associations representing tens of thousands of U.S. manufacturers and millions of employees – respectfully urge you to fund the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) at $122 million in the FY 2009 Commerce-Justice-State Appropriations Bill." Interested associations and organizations may contact Carrie Hines by March 1, 2008 to add their organization’s name to the following list as a signatory.
